User Group
Each Resource Group (New customer) needs to be attached to a User Group. Below is a screen shot of the permissions that will be applied to an EPC Customer User Group. Once you create the group create a user for that group and do all work with that user. This is imperative if you plan on giving your end customer controller access.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Creating a “User Group” for the customer is the first thing you should do. Then log out of controller with your admin account and log back in with the new specific “User” created for this customers “Group”. Once that is done, only do work for this customer with it’s user. IE: Create all plans. Groups etc…… Use the MSP account to create all downstream customers..
With each new customer we create a new “User Group”. This group is associated to the customers Domain. This will define what the customer has the privilege to do. Also, some items are based on the “Group” that is logged in.
Note: An MSP will create their own Resource Groups, Test Groups, Test Points and Tests.
First goto the User menu and select: User Groups
Then Hit "Add User Group"
This will bring you to the Group settings. Notice the permissions. This one is for an MSP, note the "Modify Privilege" set. Be sure to have all the appropriate resource groups assigned to this partner.
This one is for a "End Customer", note the "Modify Privilege" set. These are required for an End customer. An end customer can not do any administration of the EPC, It can only run tests.
Be sure to add the correct Resource Group to the User group after it is created.
