When you click on the Platform tab, you will see the Custom option, which provides the capability to customize your dashboard views. You can add and configure a new dashboard view. You can also edit or delete a dashboard view. These tasks are described in the following sections:

  • Filters
  • View or Edit an Existing Dashboard
  • Configure a New Agent Dashboard

Filters

To specify a time period for the data in your customized dashboard view:

  1. Click in the Time Period field.
  2. Select one of the following:
    • Hour
    • Day (default)
    • 7 Days
  3. Click Apply. The selected time period is applied to all sections of this page.
  4. To reset the filter to the default value, click Reset Filter in the upper-right corner. 

Dashboards

You can select an existing dashboard view using the drop-down. You can also edit or delete the dashboard view.

View an Existing Dashboard

To view an existing dashboard, click the drop-down in the View section and select an existing dashboard view. The data associated with the dashboard view is displayed on the page.


Edit an Existing Dashboard

  1. Click the drop-down in the View section and select an existing dashboard view.  
  2. Click Configure. The Configure Dashboard Views page opens.
  3. Click the Edit button next to the dashboard view you want to edit. The Configure Agent Dashboard page opens.
  4. Make changes, as needed, to the dashboard view.
    • You can change the name of the dashboard view.
    • You can add to (or remove) the agents you want to monitor.
    • You can select a different platform(s).
  5. Click one of the following:
    • Save - to save the changes you made in Step 4 and return to the previous Custom page.
    • Configure - to open the agents configuration section of the Configure Agent Dashboard page.

  1. Click on an agent that you are monitoring.
  2. Make changes, as needed, to the dashboard name, agent name, metric name(s), and metric type(s). You can also remove an agent using the Delete  button.
  3. Click Save.

Delete an Existing Dashboard

  1. Click the drop-down in the View section and select an existing dashboard view.  
  2. Click Configure. The Configure Dashboard Views page opens.
  3. Click the Delete button next to the dashboard view you want to delete. The Remove Dashboard dialog opens.
  4. Click Remove. Or, click Cancel. The following message appears
  5. Click X to close.

Configure a New Agent Dashboard

To configure a customized dashboard view:

  1. Click Configure in the View section. The Configure Dashboard Views page opens.
  2. Click New View. The Configure Agent Dashboard page opens. 
  3. Enter the following information to create a new dashboard view:

Name

Enter a name for the new dashboard view.

Platform

Select a platform using the drop-down. You can select All.

Select all agents

Click the + next to each agent you want to monitor. The selected agent(s) are added to the list in the Selected Agents panel.

  • If you want to remove an agent that you added, click  .
  • If you want to remove all agents that you added, click Deselect all agents

4.  Click one of the following:

    • Create - to save the new dashboard view and return to the previous Custom page.
    • Configure - to open the agents configuration section of the Configure Agent Dashboard page.
  1. Click on an agent that you are monitoring.
  2. Make changes, as needed, to the dashboard name, agent name, metric name(s), and metric type(s). You can also remove an agent using the Delete  button. 
  3. Click Save

When the new dashboard view is created, the following data is generated:

  • Monitored Agents
  • Server Metrics
  • Application Metrics
  • Network Metrics
  • Active Alarms

5. In the Monitored Agents panel, click on an agent to view status and metrics data for that agent.

6. In the Server, Application, and Network Metrics section, click on a drop-down to view a histogram with metrics for that application or device.

7. In the Active Alarms section, click on the highlighted number to view a list of the active alarms. You can select an alarm and either acknowledge or snooze the alarm.
