This chapter provides instructions for installing and performing initial configuration of the Nectar Endpoint Client Agent (henceforth EPC) on MacOS.
Installing the Nectar Endpoint Client
For Mac systems, the Nectar EPC Agent installation software is provided as a package, available here.
After installation, right click the EPC Utility icon in your menu bar, and select Settings to edit the agent's configuration. From this menu, you can also uninstall the agent (see Uninstalling the Agent).
To install the Nectar Endpoint Client:
If you have not already done so, save the Nectar EPC installer to a directory where the agent will be installed.
Run the executable installer.
Wait approximately 15 minutes for the installation to complete.
The EPC Utility Icon will then appear in your menu bar.
If your menu bar contains too many items, hold down the Command key and click the menu bar to reveal hidden icons, including the EPC Utility.
Right click on the EPC Utility icon and select Settings.
Enter the following configuration information:
Agent Name
Organization/Group IDs provided by your system administrator
Domain name:
nectarusprodDomain Password provided by your system administrator
Controller Address:
neccontroller.us.nectar.servicesPort:
443
Run the Reachability Test
Click Apply Settings

Right click on the EPC Utility icon again and select Status.
(Bandwidth metrics will not immediately appear)

Upgrading the Nectar Endpoint Client
For Mac systems, the Nectar EPC Agent installation software is provided as a package, available here.
Once the package is downloaded, launch the package and the client will automatically update and reconfigure.
Uninstalling the Agent
To uninstall the Nectar Endpoint Client Agent:
Stop the application by right clicking the EPC Utility icon and selecting Close.

Open Applications.
Drag the EPC Utility Icon to the Trash Bin.
Troubleshooting
If the agent was installed and configured successfully but is unable to execute tests, check to make sure that the agent is not being blocked by the firewall. For a list of ports that must be open for the agent to function properly, refer to Ports and Protocols.
