Troubleshooting Guide for Endpoint Client (EPC)
Agent Connection Errors
Symptom: Agent fails to connect to the Controller.
Causes:
1. Domain or passphrase mismatch between Agent and Controller.
2. Network routing issues.
3. Firewall or NAT blocking communication.
4. Make sure EPC installed properly.
Solutions:
1. Verify domain and passphrase configurations.
2. Check network connectivity between Agent and Controller.
3. Ensure firewall rules allow required ports.
4. Re-Install Software, ensure the “Nectar End-Point” service is running.
Symptom: Agent appears Unlicensed in controller
Causes:
1. There is no license associated to the Resource Group
2. The OrgID/GrpID are incorrect.
Solutions:
1. Verify there is a license associated to that Resource Group.
2. Verify correct OrgID/GrpID is configured into the EPC .
DXP Database Connection Issues
Symptom: EPC components fail to connect to the DXP database.
Causes:
1. Database server is offline.
2. Incorrect credentials in DXP EPC configuration.
3. Network issues between EPC and database server.
Solutions:
1. Start the database server and verify its status.
2. Update credentials in the DXP EPC configuration file.
3. Test database connectivity using a database client tool.
Testing Errors
Test Plan Execution Fails
Symptom: Tests do not start or produce no results.
Causes:
1. Misconfigured Test Points.
2.Test Group is not running.
3. Network issues between Test Points.
Solutions:
1. Double-check Test Point configurations.
2. Ensure that the test group is running
3. Ensure network connectivity between source and destination.
Inconsistent Test Results
Symptom: Results vary widely between runs.
Causes:
1. Network congestion or instability.
2. Resource limitations on Agents or Controllers.
Solutions:
1. Analyze network conditions during test periods.
2. Reduce the number of concurrent tests or allocate more resources.
Monitoring Issues
Agent Health Warnings
Symptom: Agents show low resource availability or fail intermittently.
Causes:
1. Insufficient CPU, memory, or bandwidth on the Agent machine.
2. Overloaded Controller managing too many Agents.
Solutions:
1. Increase system resources on Agent machines.
2. Distribute Agent management across multiple Controllers.
Missing Metrics in Results
Symptom: Test results do not display certain expected metrics.
Causes:
1. Metrics not enabled in Test Plan configuration.
2. Misconfiguration payloads or codecs.
Solutions:
1. Review Test Plan configuration for missing options.
2. Update test parameters to include the required metrics.
User Errors
Cannot Access the EPC Controller GUI
Symptom: Users cannot log in to the EPC web interface.
Causes:
1. Incorrect credentials.
2. GUI service not running on the server.
Solutions:
1. Verify login credentials with the administrator.
2. Restart the GUI service or check the server’s status.
Difficulty Creating Test Plans
Symptom: Users encounter errors or confusion during Test Plan creation.
Causes:
1. Incorrect Test Type selected.
2. Missing or invalid parameters.
Solutions:
1. Follow the step-by-step guide in the manual.
2. Validate all input fields before saving the Test Plan.
This guide provides solutions for common issues encountered when using EPC. For further assistance, contact the system administrator or refer to the full training manual.
