    Article Summary

    Overview

This guide explains how to add and enable the Mother Module to a RIG. The Mother Module facilitates the sharing of information from different RIGs into a CIP. It also provides a communication platform between Nectar Foundation and Nectar Diagnostics.

For detailed information on performing Nectar RIG operation tasks, such as using dashboards and dependency trees, see the Nectar Foundation Remote Intelligence Gateway (RIG) Administration Guide.

    About this Guide

    This guide explains how to:

Add and Enable the Mother Module to a RIG

    Audience

This guide is intended for system administrators or engineers who have system administration access and technical knowledge of the Mother Module along with a familiarity with deploying Nectar Foundation.

    Supported Software Versions

    • Nectar v8.7

    Prerequisites

When requesting a license, specify that you want a license that includes the Mother Module.

Add and Enable the Mother Module to a RIG

This document explains how to add and enable the Mother Module to a RIG. The Mother Module facilitates the sharing of information from different RIGs into a CIP. It also provides a communication platform between Nectar Foundation and Nectar Diagnostics.

This chapter contains the following sections:

    Apply the License
    Enable EIP/Perspective Controller (Mother)
Verify the Mother Module is Installed
Point Nectar Diagnostics to the RIG
Add Permissions to the Mother Module RIG
Make Sure the RIG is Connected

    Apply the License

Next apply the license to your RIG.

Follow one of these procedures (your setup determines what procedure to follow):

Apply a License to a Local Host RIG from a CIP/EIP
Apply a License to a Newly Installed RIG

Apply a License to a Local Host RIG from a CIP/EIP

To apply a license to a local host RIG from a CIP/EIP:

    1. Access your RIG by way of the CIP/EIP.
    2. Navigate to RIG > Server License.

Verify the Mother Module is Installed

Follow this procedure to verify that the Mother Module is installed:

    1. Navigate to Configure > Distributed:

    Figure 2-7Configure > Distributed

    1. In the Satellites panel, you can see the newly installed Mother Module RIG. (In this case, a satellite represents the Mother Module RIG.)

    1. To drill down, double-click on a satellite to see that device that is pointed to the Mother Module RIG.

Point Nectar Diagnostics to the RIG

Follow this procedure to point Nectar Diagnostics to the new Mother Module RIG. The IP address of the RIG and Nectar Diagnostics is needed.

    1. Navigate to Tools > Remote Access > Connection Broker:
